Thanks to the refinery's activities, almost 100% of Quebec's natural zinc resources are processed locally. The processing of raw materials in Quebec creates a true value chain that benefits society as a whole.

Of its zinc production, 25,000 tonnes is supplied to Quebec metal manufacturers who produce zinc alloys or galvanise steel. The plant also provides a second use for the zinc mined in Quebec. Half of the sulphuric acid produced is also destined for the Quebec market, avoiding more costly imports for Quebec customers.

CEZinc is one of the largest private employers in the Salaberry-de-Valleyfield region. Counting only direct jobs and those linked to the supply chain, the company's activities support more than 1,200 jobs throughout Quebec.
