HORNE SMELTER

The Noranda Reactor

The reactor was invented to replace the old, power-guzzling reverberatory furnace technology with an energy-efficient process. The result is among the most flexible processes in the world, whether in terms of the size of the materials that feed it, their moisture, or their composition. When it came time to process recycled materials, this flexibility was a huge asset for the smelter. Horne Smelter has been using this process since 1973.
